Jan 8-10 Winter Camporee Info

Troop 301 will be staying at the Shinnecock Cabin at the Winter Camporee at Baiting Hollow. There is limited space inside the cabin. The Troop has decided that the cabin will be occupied by first year scouts FIRST, then second year scouts and the so on until the cabin is filled up.
Also remember that PERMISSION SLIPS for that campout are due at the Dec 17th meeting. The new medical form will be due by the Jan 7th meeting. Medical forms are REQUIRED to participate. You only need to complete Part A and Part C (not the parts that require a doctor’s signature). Medical forms can be downloaded from the Forms page.
BSA Medical Form required for Alpine

To all Scouts who will be going to the upcoming Alpine campout:
To use the indoor rock climbing wall at Alpine that they will have available to us, you and your parent must complete the new BSA Medical Form, which you can download at the forms page. You only need to complete Part A and Part C (not the parts that require a doctor’s signature).

DECEMBER 1 TLC 7:30 at the First Presbyterian Church-Smithtown across from the Library. Meeting will be be downstairs of the school building
DECEMBER 3 Troop Meeting, usual time at the First Presbyterian Church in the Parish Hall
DECEMBER 5-6 CAMPOUT at Alpine NJ—Details to follow
DECEMBER 10 NO TROOP MEETING but Patrol Leaders are encouraged to hold a patrol meeting .
DECEMBER 14 Troop swim at Hauppauge High School. Arrive at 6:45 with your swim suit under your clothes. Swim time ends at 8:15. Locker room available to change into dry clothes.

To all Scouts: please remember that Permission Slips for the Alpine Campout on Dec 5 and 6 are due this Thursday (after Thursday there is only one meeting left prior to the campout).
Turkey Cookout Rescheduled

The turkey cookout scheduled for this Saturday has been rescheduled as a day trip for Sunday due to weather.
We will be meeting at 7am on Sunday at the church, hiking around 10am and eating in the early afternoon.
Fall Camporee

The Fall Camporee will be October 9th,10th, and 11th. All permission slips are due this Thursday October 1st. There is also a $35.00 $10.00, see above camping fee for this trip. If you do not have a permission slip in on Thursday you will NOT be able to attend the camporee
Canoe Trip This Weekend

Troop 301: to make this campout work please give your patrol leaders your permission slips and an activity fee of $16.00 at THE BEGINNING of this Thursday’s meeting. We are past a deadline for tour permits. If we can not get this together the trip will be cancelled.

Nissequogue Canoe Trip

We will be canoeing the Nissequogue this weekend and camping out at Short Beach.
The troop is meeting at the bull at 6am and canoeing up to Short Beach. We will arrive before noon and stay overnight. Parents can come pick up scouts on Sunday morning around 9am.
Valley Forge

Each person going on the trip, both scouts and adults, has to pay an activity fee of $20, collected by the Senior Patrol Leader.
Valley Forge Permission Slips

Permission forms for every scout is due to their patrol leader the week we return from break. There are no exceptions for late permission slips. The trip itself will be from April 24 until sunday April 26. There will be no cooking on the trip so everyone should bring money for when we go out at night to eat.
