Troop Bugler

The bugler plays the bugle (or a similar interest) to mark key moments during the day on troop outings, such as reveille and lights out. He must know the required bugle calls and should ideally have earned the Bugling merit badge.

*Note that this position can only count for advancement toward STAR and LIFE (not EAGLE)

Weekly duties:

  • Practices playing the Bugle
  • Plays at flag raising and lowering
  • Responsible for waking the camp and lights out
  • Helps coordinate reorganization of the chairs etc. at the end of a meeting
