Troop 301 is a Boy Scout Troop that meets in the St. James Lutheran Church, St. James, NY every Thursday night at 7:30 pm from September into early June. (Map and Driving Directions) Being one of the largest troops in Suffolk County, we have high standards and great scouts. Our mission is to create a setting in which our scouts can learn how to lead and take on responsibilities. All of the major decisions of our troop are made by the scouts. We are one of the few boy-run troops in Suffolk County and we take pride in this. We go on campouts every month during the school year, and we attend at least two summer camp trips which are one week long each. We also have a very active High Adventure Program designed for older scouts where they take trips to distant places such as Canada, New Mexico and the Bahamas to put their scouting skills to the test.
