Sometimes scouts really live the scout oath and law.
This past whitewater rafting trip was one of those times.
Please read the e-mail I received below and step forward as you should be recognized.
Hi Mr. Bauer,
I believe your troop went on a Whitewater Rafting trip at Jim Thorpe, PA this past Saturday. You probably heard about the rescue that one of your raft-full of scouts and fathers executed shortly before the lunch break. I was the girl they rescued! I cannot express to you and that group how grateful I am for their bravery, goodwill, and determination to save me. They made me feel welcome and safe during one of the scariest moments of my life. For that, I am forever thankful.
Could you please provide me an address where I could send a card of my appreciation? Also, I wasn’t able to remember all the names of my saviors, only that one of the fathers was Tom. I know there were 8 of them in their raft before picking me up. It would be nice to be able to personalize my note, if you could help me with that.
Again, thanks very much for an eventful trip!
Great job guys! That was one really GOOD TURN.
