Alure & Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Invites Scouts to Pep Rally June 14 at DUCKS Stadium

   Dear Scouting Community:

ABC’s Emmy-winning hit show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition has selected another Long Island family to feature on its award winning show that helps change the lives of families and inspire remarkable community support. Each week, the show renovates the entire home of a deserving family on national TV, traveling across the country.

On Monday, June 14th, Alure Home Improvements & Extreme Makeover: Home Edition will host a Pep Rally for Extreme Makeover Volunteers interested in being part of Long Island’s June makeover at Suffolk County Sports Park (DUCKS Stadium/formerly Citibank Park), Islip, NY. The Pep Rally will be from 6:30 – 8:30 pm and admission is free.

While Alure is the main builder and a major contributor, the makeovers rely on numerous volunteers and community support, and all of Long Island is invited to join this amazing experience.

While the exact town and family details will not be released until after the door knock on June 21st, volunteers will now have a week before the knock to sign up and get involved.

The pep rally will be hosted by Sal Ferro, President & CEO of Alure Home Improvements, and he will be joined by several members of the production team from Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, who will be present to talk about the show and how people can help.

Alure Home Improvements is inviting volunteers from the community, especially Scouts and Scouters, interested in providing their time, support and/or resources to help ensure the success of this life-altering project. At the Pep Rally, Alure will start to sign up volunteers for the project, which will start a week later.

Scouts and Scouters are encouraged to attend the Pep Rally in full Class A Uniform to find out more information on how to volunteer time and/or resources. Scouts will be given a special section in which to gather and will be recognized for their support and the 100th Anniversary of Scouting.  In addition, Alure President and CEO, Sal Ferro, will be honored this year by the Suffolk County Council, Boy Scouts of America with the Distinguished Citizen Award in October at Villa Lombardi’s.

“We are thrilled that Extreme Makeover: Home Edition has selected a Long Island family for their next makeover and we are excited to not only make a difference in the lives of a deserving family, but to also play a part in inspiring the Long Island community for a great cause. I am both excited to be part of something that brings so much of the community together.” Sal Ferro.

Ty Pennington along with rest of the show’s design team will notify the selected family by showing up at the Suffolk County family’s residence on Monday, June 21st.
