Troop 301,
As it has been in recent years, the district has given us very little detail. What we were told is that they don’t want people showing up before the 6:00 pm check-in on Friday.
NOBODY SETS UP BEFORE THE TROOP! We are carrying everything in from the parking lot and we are NOT in our summer camp campsite.
The order the “stuff” comes into camp is TROOP – PATROL – PERSONAL. The SPL will tell you where to set up your tent!
Also be prepared for some showers as the weather forecast is not for bright and sunny at this point (hint: Poncho’s)
There is a “SOAP BOX RACE” which, as I remember it, is basically a home made wooden “Go-Cart” the rolls down hill.
Any and all wishing to do this please have fun but keep it safe and simple (low tech).

The Theme is Baden Powel back to basics
This camporee is all about how they camped in the beginning. So leave all your modern equipment home.
Campsites should be set up like the Baden Powell Era
Lunch is utensil less or foils cooking in the campsite
There will be three campsite inspection categories –
Campsite – set up in the Baden Powell theme
Camp gadgets from Baden Powell era – spears, traps and other appropriate gadgets
Gateway
There will be a SM challenge –
Archery
Shooting
Tomahawk throw
You must pack in your gear. No vehicles allowed in camp – use wagons or travois for transportation.
Use any soap box car for the soap box derby – as long as it is safe, must pass safety inspection
Stations
Tomahawk throw
Spear throwing
Blind Square
Bowline stroll
Remote clove hitch
Board Walk
Tug of War
Stick it to Them
There will be a troop rifling competition – send top shooter to represent your troop
This shooter must be appointed by the SPL. Time – 2-4 pm

Try to minimize anything high tech at your campsite.
Lots of wooden gadgets and a cool entrance will score points for the troop.
WE WILL START MEETING AT THE CHURCH AROUND 4:30PM TO LEAVE BY 5:00PM.
