Phone Chain

Hey Guys,
With all the mix ups that happened this weekend, I need to make Troop 301′s new phone chain happen and be in effect immediately. So if by Thursday I can have everyone’s new and updated numbers, and emails, that would be great. Also by new numbers, I would like everyone to put both their house phones and cell phone numbers.
Thanks
Tommy

Adopt a Family program

The Holiday season is quickly approaching and in our quest to do good deeds I have arranged for Troop 301 to adopt one local family, two Marines and collect unwrapped toys for the Toys for Tots program. The local family may be one of our neighbors that has fallen on hard times and needs assistance this year. The Marines were given to us by the Adopt a Hero Program. Toys for Tots is an ongoing toy drive sponsored by the Marines. I am asking that you help out in any way that you can. The list below consists of requested items that would make a lovely gift box. The Hero program needs to be mailed out by Thanksgiving so I will need your donations ASAP. The Toys for Tots are unwrapped gifts that Harry will collect at the troop meetings on Thursdays and place in the box that we have. The deadline for the local family’s gifts is December 16th. I suggest that several boys chip in and buy a gift together. I would be more than happy to wrap any/all of the gifts for the family. If you have any questions Read the rest of this entry »

Upcoming Thanksgiving Feast Campout

Baiting Hallow 2008 231

Next Saturday (11/14) is the troop’s annual garbage can turkey roast. This is a troop sponsored event and ALL family members are welcome to attend. If they’re welcome in your home they are welcome with us. Each year we have more people in attendance than the previous year and I hope this year is no exception. The cookout is at Blydenburgh County Park in the Wolf 3 & 4 campsites. We plan to begin carving the turkey at around 2PM. The boys will be preparing all the side dishes! The one thing we are asking families to bring is a dessert. I like apple pie.

If you have any questions feel free to send an email to joseph.mcgarry@hp.com or you can call me at 631-863-2195. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone there!

–Mr. McGarry
