This is a mandatory fundraiser. Every Scout must participate at least 2 hours toward service time. You may help out all day if you wish.
There will be a signup sheet at the next meeting – in 2 hour intervals. Older scouts must help set up at 8am or clean up at 2pm – that will also be on signup sheet.
Parent participation is strongly encouraged.
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact Dana Pedone by email or call 516-816-4398
This is always a fun day, especially when the weather is nice!

Family Fishing Trip
Posted by Frank in Announcements on April 11, 2009
Come join us for our first Boy Scout Family Fishing Trip aboard the Celtic Quest out of Port Jefferson on Saturday, June 13th at 3:15pm.
The trip will last 4-5 hours and the price ranges from $34.00 to $43.00 depending on the number of participants. This fee includes all bait and tackle as well as a tip for the mates.
We need to know how many people definitely would like to go by the April 23rd troop meeting so a price can be finalized with the Captain. The more people that go, the lower the price.
All scout families that are interested can email or sign up at the troop meeting on the 23rd. It will be fun for all and a great day on the Long Island Sound.
Any questions, feel free to email or call Gary Gavorsky at 631 672-7287.
Patrol emails
Posted by Frank in Announcements on April 5, 2009
Patrol leaders must have the email addresses of the scouts in the patrol and their parents by the meeting on April 16. It is recommended that this form or some format similar to it be used.
After that meeting email lists will be set up to allow for troop discussion, distribution of announcements and other useful things for scouts and parents.
Lightning strike
The church was hit by lightning during the storm on Friday April 3rd.
Everything is fine, no one was hurt. Lighting hit the bell tower of
the church and blew it apart. All the cleanup and reconstruction is
being taken care of by a construction company recommended by the
insurance people. They have already cleaned up the outside of the
church and reinforced the bell tower temporarily. They church part of
the building has been closed off for now.
(Tom Baxley)
This will probably not affect us, but Tom and the church will keep the troop posted.
